IVIMEDS is a partnership of medical schools and the partner schools play a key role in shaping and defining developments.  Each partner school is represented on the IVIMEDS Steering Council which meets annually to agree and approve IVIMEDS’ educational, technology and business strategy and policy.  A technology advisory group includes representatives from each school and they are consulted on technology issues ensuring that the needs of all schools are taken into account.  The technology group makes recommendations to the Steering Council for their consideration and decisions.  Similarly an education advisory group is consulted on educational issues and they too propose recommendations to the Steering Council.

There is also day to day collaboration between members of the core team and individual staff in partner schools in content creation and the development of value added services such as proprietary software tools.
